AVR duo Jon and Gill Day partook in the Honiton Sprint Triathlon, writes Dave Mutter.
The Honiton Sprint Triathlon comprised, this year, of a 400m swim, a 20k bike ride and finally a 5k run – the run this year was a tad shorter than normal – 2.7 miles as against the usual 3.10 miles.
This was the first staging of the event in almost two years owing to the pandemic restrictions.
Clearly, both Jon and Gill relished the opportunity to get back into competitive Triathlon racing.
Jon finished 39th out of 107 competitors with a swim time of 9:37, a bike time of 37:32 and a run time of 19:44.
Gill was pleased with her 102nd place with a swim (12:51), bike (49:39) and run (30:12).
Many thanks must got to all the marshals and LM Events for taking over The Honiton Triathlon and keeping it going in these difficult times.
In other AVR news, Cliff Marriott ran the Burrator 10k, finishing in a time of 48:56. Cliff reports being highly impressed with the scenic route which he described as ‘I might have still been in Devon but could have been Narnia’!
