The prospect of being able to run with a few more people quite soon, as and when pandemic restrictions are lifted, spurred on more runners to attempt the AVR March virtual 4k handicap, writes Dave Mutter.
Indeed there were a record 21 entrants and the top 14 all set new personal best times (pb).
The winner, in a time of 23:41, was Maxine Sweetman.
Second was Gill Day in 23:36 and third place went to Sarah Whelan in 28:42.
Caroline Wiseman was fourth in 28:54 and fifth was Eleanor Wood 18:29.
In terms of the overall standings after three races, Eleanor Wood leads with 57 points.
Second is Jon Day with 54, Maxine Sweetman sits third with 53, Shirley Salter is fourth with 46 points and completing the top five is Amie Sibley, with 43.
