The Axe Cliff ladies’ were out in good numbers for a Fireworks competition organised by Caroline’s Bond, writes Dave Bruce.
The meeting was blessed with good weather and the ladies played in groups of three for what was contested as an individual Stableford, but with a difference, once the players arrived at a green they were met with .instructions such as; ‘keep your score’, ‘double your score’, ‘add on one other of your playing partners score’ or ‘claim an extra point if you hole out first’.
The ladies’ now have new handicaps under the new scheme which pleased some more than others but none more than Jo Donmall who was the clear winner on 53 points
Second place went to Pauline Willis with 49, while both Jill Wellington and Barbara Cummings returned scores of 48 points.
Alas, the ladies are not able to over the coming weeks owing to Lockdown II, but all look forward to playing again in early December.
