Exmouth clubs unite for Community Larder

There’s a wonderful community project being driven by Withycombe RFC that has gathered superb support from other local clubs.

Withycombe RFC, Exmouth RFC, Exmouth Town Football Club (seniors and youth section), Exmouth United, Exmouth Cricket Club and Brixington Blues are all involved in a scheme to support the Community Larder over the festive period.

Withycombe RFCs Mark Long provided the initial drive and he says: “Next week, on Sunday, December 20, we will be joining sports clubs from all over the area to collect food and toiletries for the Exmouth Community Larder.

Please, please on Saturday (December 5), Thursday and the following Saturday (December 19) let’s get plenty of whatever you can spare and help those in our local community who are less fortunate.

“It will really help make a special Christmas for local families.

These donations will then be delivered to Withycombe RFC on Sunday 20 from where they will be distributed to the Community Larder.

Exmouth Town Football Club’s head of youth Nick James says: “This is a really good opportunity for sporting rivalry to be put to one side and show just how powerful sport can be in the town. Here’s hoping people really get behind this.”
