Withycombe U15s have been continuing their campaign to raise mental health awareness now fixtures have returned, writes Mark Long.
The boys have been training and warming up in T-shirts provided by Youngminds, for whom the team did a charity bike ride last year, to get players feeling free to talk about any mental health issues.
It’s been quite the talking point at games with parents from other clubs asking about and then discussing the positive effect their efforts are having. Latest research is one in eight teenagers have mental health issues so the efforts of the boys can make a real difference.
Let’s hope all feel free to talk about this and many thanks to the Withycombe boys for spreading the word and doing a great job.
